Foster Parent Ongoing Training
The Priceless Parenting course is approved by the Washington State Department of Social & Health Services (DSHS) for the ongoing foster parent training requirement. Completing this course will result in 10 hours in Child Guidance. These 10 hours can be used as part of the 36 hours of ongoing training required during each three year licensing period.

Can I use this training even though I am a foster parent outside of Washington State?

Please contact your State Foster Parent Association to determine if they will give you credit for this course. The National Foster Parent Association has contact information for most state’s Foster Parent Associations.
What steps do I need to follow to get my 10 hours in Child Guidance?
  1. Register for the course. Receive all seven lessons for $99.
  2. Complete all seven lessons. Apply the homework to parenting your foster children.
  3. Complete a training evaluation.
  4. Request a certificate of completion after finishing lesson seven.
